Terms for Learners

[Lincs Driving Solutions] aims to educate drivers to the highest possible standards. Our lessons are based upon a combination of coaching and interactive training delivered to a high standard of in-car delivery, whilst also designed to be engaging and fun. To achieve this aim, both the pupil and instructor should agree to the following:
Pupil to:
Turn up on time, in a fit state to drive. The instructor will wait ten minutes at the agreed meeting location. The full amount will be charged for loss of earnings.
Give a minimum of 2 working days notice of cancellation of a lesson (failure to do this may result in a cancellation fee being charged. Exceptional circumstances will be taken into consideration)
Be willing to consider new ideas and concepts
Participate in all elements of the learning to drive process
Complete tasks within the timescale agreed with your instructor
Provide documentation necessary for theory and practical driving tests
Inform your instructor of any change of contact details
Only book a driving test that is agreed time between instructor and student.
Instructor to:
Be punctual for driving lessons
Tailor your tuition to the pupil’s needs.
Be flexible when booking lessons, ensuring 24 hours’ notice of any lesson cancellation
Make lessons interesting, stimulating and fun while maintaining a good learning environment.
Educate the pupil in the necessary skills, knowledge and understanding to be a safe driver for life
Respect the pupil’s confidentiality
- If the instructor feels that the student isn’t ready to take a driving test, the instructor as the right to cancel and not provide a vehicle. A driving test will only be taken if the instructor agrees that they are ready.
Safe Training Practices
To safeguard you, the instructor, and other students during the COVID-19 pandemic, it will be necessary to abide by the following additional terms and conditions. These terms and conditions are designed to help reduce the risk of contracting or transmitting the virus while taking driving lessons. Where there is any conflict between other standard terms and conditions of service and those listed below, these take precedence.
Vehicle Ventilation
Our instructors will prepare the car and wipe down the steering wheel and other controls before every lesson.
Learner and Instructor Safety
Every student will be advised to declare that they are symptom -free.
If you know you that you may have potentially been in a situation where you or any member of your household may have contracted COVID-19, been tested positive , advised to self-isolate (e.g. NHS Test and Trace or equivalent) or shown symptoms (see below) it is vital that you let the instructor know as soon as possible.
COVID-19 symptoms include:
• a high temperature (37.8 or above)
• a new, continuous dry cough
• unexplained loss or change to your (or their) sense of smell or taste
Without charge to you this will help me to decide whether it will be necessary to postpone any future lessons until it is safe to continue based on the latest Government guidelines.
Instructor Terms
The instructor will inform you if they suspect they or anyone in their household have:
• been exposed to a serious risk of contracting COVID-19 or
• tested positive for COVID-19 or
• exhibited symptoms of COVID-19 infection or
• been advised to self-isolate.
If so, they may need to postpone your driving lessons (including attending any driving test) and self-isolate, based on current Government advice, for at least 14 days or indeed longer in the case of a severe infection. In this instance any scheduled lessons would be carried forward until in a position to resume training.
Test and Trace
Your instructor could become exposed to the virus and may have to Self-Isolate. In this instance, in line with Test and Trace, it is likely that you too will need to isolate for 14 days. You must agree for your contact details to be shared with the Test and Trace team.
More information on the Test and Trace system can be found at:
https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/testing-and-tracing/nhs-test-and-trace-if-youve-been-in-contact-with-a-person-who-has-coronavirus/
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Our instructors will follow industry best practice on PPE requirements on every lesson.
The instructor and learner will come to an agreement with the wearing of a face mask or use of a face covering.
Please provide your own face mask or covering. This must not interfere with your ability to drive safely.
The instructor will charge for any face masks requested by the learner to wear during the lesson.
Gloves can be worn by yourself if you wish to do so, however it is important to note that wearing gloves does not replace good hand hygiene. It is an established fact that gloves are counterproductive and increase the likelihood of the virus being spread. You will be issued with hand sanitiser, to apply prior to entering the vehicle.
The instructor may at their discretion check your temperature with a non-contact thermometer. If your temperature is above 37.8 degrees, your lesson will be cancelled.
* Please notify us at least 48 hours prior to any driving lesson if you do not have a suitable face covering or mask. The instructor may be able to supply a disposable mask or a reusable mask at an additional cost.
Late Cancellation Policy During Covid-19
If you believe that you may have been in contact with someone showing symptoms, you must contact your instructor immediately to rearrange your lesson.
If you become unwell and are showing symptoms or if anyone in your household is showing symptoms you must contact your instructor immediately.
In these cases, lessons will be rescheduled, allowing 2 weeks for isolation to take place.
Avoid paying in cash
If you do bring cash, make sure it is the precise amount that is needed to pay for the lesson or lessons you want to purchase. The instructor will ask you to drop it into a bag or container that they will keep for this purpose. The best way to pay for the service is to pay via online banking direct into your instructors account. Please consult with your instructor for other options.
This agreement is not legally binding. It does, however, illustrate the co-operation required between the instructor and pupil to facilitate an optimal learning environment
